Verified Ecological Data for Smarter Conservation: Napital’s Bintan Project Goes On-Chain

· News

Napital Group is proud to announce that ecological data from the first phase of the Bintan Island project has been successfully integrated on-chain. This marks a major milestone in combining scientific ecological assessment with advanced digital technologies to enhance transparency, traceability, and long-term accessibility of critical environmental information.

The dataset—covering biodiversity, carbon sequestration, air quality, soil index, and water index—was generated through a comprehensive field-based ecological assessment led by Napital’s & AECOM’s expert teams.

By storing this dataset on decentralized digital infrastructure, the project ensures that ecological data remains scientifically robust, independently verifiable, and permanently accessible. Beyond data integrity, this achievement provides tangible benefits for the field of ecological protection:

  • 🧪Scientific research: enabling ecologists and conservation scientists to access long-term, standardized datasets for monitoring changes in biodiversity and ecosystem health.
  • 📃Policy and management: offering governments and decision-makers credible data to design more effective conservation policies and climate action strategies.
  • 🌿Restoration and protection: supporting NGOs, businesses, and communities in evaluating the effectiveness of restoration initiatives and in prioritizing investment in nature-based solutions.

We are currently working with our blockchain technology partners NCU.FI to showcase how data is recorded on-chain, accessed, and verified. The results of this collaboration will be presented to the public soon.

Looking forward, Napital will continue to advance the Natural Capital Initiative across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, fostering public-private collaboration and supporting innovative approaches that integrate scientific rigor with practical applications.
