We are thrilled to share that our Bintan project has been featured as a case study in the latest Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA) Report: “Mobilising Sustainable Finance to Halt and Reverse Nature Loss” — a major piece of thought leadership on biodiversity-aligned finance. 🌱📊
The HKGFA report underscores the critical role of private capital in closing the global nature finance gap — estimated in the hundreds of billions annually — by reorienting capital flows toward solutions that protect and restore ecosystems. It calls for:
✔ Greater adoption of nature-aligned frameworks and disclosures (e.g., TNFD principles);
✔ Innovative financial products that support ecosystem outcomes; and
✔ Mechanisms that make nature-positive projects scalable and investable.
💡 Featured on page 42 of the report, our Pilot Natural Capital Project in Bintan is showcased as a practical model of nature uplift — not merely offsetting impacts, but creating high-performance ecosystems that deliver measurable, positive environmental outcomes. It exemplifies how:
🌿 Authentic ecological restoration can be aligned with investor interests,
🌿 Natural capital metrics can quantify performance against SDGs/ESG goals, and
🌿 Digital innovation (like blockchain) can enhance transparency, traceability, and investment confidence in nature-based assets.
By bridging ecological integrity with financial frameworks, the Bintan project illustrates a replicable pathway for scaling nature-positive investments across markets and sectors.
